Departmental Overview: The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs, serving more than 850 student-athletes through NCAA programs. We are seeking a Director, Sports Operations to assist various sports teams with their operational needs. Position Summary

This position provides operational support to sports teams as assigned, developing, promoting, and supporting the operational and strategic aspects of intercollegiate student-athlete programs. Responsibilities include planning competition and practice schedules with coaching staffs, coordinating team travel, managing annual budgets, purchasing, and monitoring deadlines, expenses, and events. The role operates autonomously and reports back to the coaching staff on department, campus, conference, and NCAA deadlines. The position also contributes to a variety of department projects including: the Student-Athlete Post-Eligibility Program; Competition Schedule collection and game guarantee development; department-wide recruiting events; Post-Season Championships; oversight and education of Olympic Sports Operations Interns. Responsibilities

Provide Olympic Sports Operations support for assigned teams. Handle team administration, travel (team/coach/recruit), reimbursements, purchasing, team meetings, event planning, team banquets, team meals, alumni events, and special events. Serve as a liaison to support units and equip coaching staffs with tools and information to streamline administrative tasks. Direct and assign tasks to Olympic Sports interns to support athletic programs. Coordinate with post-eligibility student-athlete workers and allocate tasks to support operational activities. Contribute to department-wide projects including post-eligibility/ineligibility programs, schedule collection, game guarantees, and coordination with Events and Facilities on events and scheduling. Support home events as needed and as directed by Event staff. Engage in other department initiatives and professional development as assigned. Required Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of program activity and best practices. Independent thinker and productive worker with the department’s best interests in mind. Problem-solving, multi-tasking, ability to handle interruptions, and strong listening skills. Strong verbal and written communication in English. Proficient in basic computer applications and able to learn university rules and procedures for budgets, accounts, and personnel management. Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; familiarity with events planning, cash handling, risk management, website design, accounting, and payroll. Strong short-term planning, analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Experience with youth program management and coordination; knowledge of PAC-12/NCAA rules and standards; ability to stay current with applicable rules and standards. Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training. Preferred Qualifications

CPR Certification. Salary & Benefits
