Americas Export Control and Sanctions Senior Manager
within the Export Control Center of Excellence in one of the following locations:
Boston, MA; Nashville, TN; Raleigh, NC; Dallas, TX . In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing export control and sanctions compliance across the Americas region. This includes identifying, interpreting, and managing relevant U.S. and regional regulations—such as EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and local equivalents—to ensure Schneider Electric operates securely and lawfully in international markets. You will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive compliance framework in collaboration with the Americas Center of Excellence team. This involves translating complex legal requirements into practical, operational processes that support business continuity and regulatory alignment across geographies and business units. As a strategic advisor, you will guide stakeholders through regulatory obligations, ensuring robust governance and risk management. Your expertise will be critical in enabling the organization to respond effectively to evolving trade laws and sanctions. What will you do?
International Trade and Sanctions Laws and Regulations : Identify and analyze laws and regulations related to Export Control and International Sanctions affecting Schneider Electric’s operations. This review is embedded in a structured process developed by the Export Control Center of Excellence (COE), which includes daily monitoring, weekly updates, monthly communications, and the operational implementation of regulatory changes. Leadership in Legal Interpretation and Implementation : Lead the interpretation and application of export control and sanctions laws across Schneider Electric’s Americas operations. Responsibilities include assessing regulatory impacts, designing and deploying compliant processes, and guiding business units in translating legal requirements into practical actions. Requires deep expertise in export control regulations, strong analytical skills, business insight, and the ability to communicate and train effectively. Strategic Project Support : Contribute to strategic initiatives that involve the operationalization of export control and sanctions matters. Projects are driven by risk assessments, governance priorities, or ad hoc needs aligned with the Export Control COE’s governance framework and require advanced expertise in export control. What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Law, International Trade, Business, or related field (JD or Master’s preferred). 10+ years of experience in export control, sanctions, or trade compliance, with leadership responsibilities. Expert-level knowledge of U.S. and regional export control and sanctions regulations, including Canada and Latin America. Proven experience in designing and implementing compliance frameworks in multinational environments. Expert-level knowledge of export control classification processes, including ECCN determination under EAR, USML classification under ITAR, and regional equivalents. Proven ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into operational procedures and controls. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly in evaluating technical specifications and determining jurisdiction and classification. Familiarity with automated export compliance software. Excellent communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage compliance programs in a multinational environment. Application and company information
