Picogrid is building out our vendor-neutral data integration layer, Legion. Legion connects government and commercial systems across various domains and command layers for mission autonomy and base defense. The team focuses on resilient, scalable, and flexible systems that will shape the future of defense capabilities by building a robust self-service integration platform. About The Role
As an Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer within the Core Platform Engineering team, you automate and scale the systems and services that power our streaming platform. You will collaborate with platform engineering, edge applications, and client teams on infrastructure automation, scaling, CI/CD, hybrid deployments, and driving projects to completion. You will develop tools and systems that support services and facilitate high-quality software delivery, and participate in general backend development as needed to support the product. Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience as an Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer in production environments Experience in automation and creating reusable patterns and solutions Experience with GitOps and CI/CD; familiarity with ArgoCD, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions; includes infrastructure automation within CI/CD Passion for supporting and empowering software development teams Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) At least 3+ years with programming languages (Go, Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, etc.) Experience managing containerized infrastructure in ECS or Kubernetes and developing and maintaining Helm charts Experience guiding Software Engineers in production best practices and knowledge sharing Bare Metal Infrastructure experience: on-prem deployments, including Linux installation and hardening, deploying Docker Compose stacks Ability to obtain and maintain a US Top Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB) Familiarity with Cloud Native concepts (CNCF) Knowledge or experience in regulated industries (financial services, medical, US government) DoD STIG/SRG Compliance, CIS Benchmark hardening Familiarity with security programs (FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53/171, CMMC, CSFC) Experience in DoD IL5+, Top Secret, and JWICS environments Proficiency in Go Familiarity with AWS Lambda Experience with embedded systems (e.g., Nvidia Jetson, AMD SOM/SOC) Familiarity with IoT fleet management systems (AWS IoT GreenGrass, Balena, Mender) Building embedded systems images (e.g., Yocto) Who You Are
