Join Autodesk as a Software Architect (Mobile). This remote-friendly role is based in North America and focuses on defining mobile architecture, guiding cross-platform development, and delivering scalable experiences using Swift, Kotlin, and Kotlin Native. The position supports the Autodesk Construction Cloud and connects millions of data points monthly. Responsibilities
Define and evolve architectural principles, patterns, and frameworks across mobile platforms Ensure technical alignment between mobile and backend systems by collaborating with domain and backend architects Guide system design for complex features, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability Provide architectural mentorship to developers and participate in design reviews Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and techniques to support modern mobile development Promote reuse of shared components and libraries, especially in KMP contexts Work with the Mobile Core Infrastructure Team on architecture-driven initiatives (modularization, networking layers, state management) Partner with Platform and Product teams to include mobile architectural considerations early in planning Participate in architectural councils and review boards to represent mobile perspectives Ensure long-term architectural consistency and stability Reduce duplication, technical debt, and rework Enhance developer experience and cross-team alignment Consider mobile and offline constraints upfront in cross-functional planning Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of professional mobile development experience Proven experience designing and architecting complex mobile systems at scale Expertise in native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, Java) and/or cross-platform technologies (e.g., React Native, Flutter) Strong understanding of mobile app design patterns, data synchronization, offline storage, and API integration Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for mobile CI/CD Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions and documentation Preferred Qualifications
Experience with mobile analytics, push notification systems, and A/B testing frameworks Knowledge of security and compliance requirements in mobile app development Open-source contributions or published apps in App Store/Google Play About Autodesk

Salary is part of Autodesk’s compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, starting base salary is typically between $189,000 and $305,800, with offers based on experience and location. Compensation may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits. For Canada (BC), starting base salary typically ranges from $171,000 to $250,800, with additional compensation possibilities.
