Overview

The Applications Manager is a hybrid business-technology leader responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of enterprise-level applications, both in-house developed and off-the-shelf, across their full lifecycle. This includes business process analysis, product ownership, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and post-implementation support. This role acts as the bridge between business units and IT, ensuring application ecosystems—built on Azure, .NET, Dynamics, and other platforms—align with evolving operational needs and strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

Application Strategy & Lifecycle Management Own and manage the full lifecycle of in-house and off-the-shelf applications including planning, implementation, enhancements, and decommissioning. Partner with business and IT leadership to define the roadmap and prioritize initiatives for applications including Azure Data solutions, Dynamics, UKG, Great Plains, and other key systems. Establish governance, integration standards, and change management practices to ensure system stability and scalability. Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Alignment Act as the primary liaison between business users and IT to translate evolving needs into scalable solutions using technologies such as Azure SQL Server, Synapse, Data Bricks, and Power BI. Lead discovery sessions and workshops to identify process improvements and optimize usage of enterprise applications. Build strong partnerships with department leaders to ensure solutions meet operational requirements. Project Delivery & Enhancement Manage design and delivery of new features, modules, or applications in collaboration with project managers, analysts, developers, and vendors. Oversee enhancements in platforms such as Angular 16+, .NET 8 LTS, Redis caching, and Purview. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), validation efforts, and post-implementation reviews. Serve as escalation point for critical issues in applications including Great Plains, Dynamics, UKG, Concur, Maximo, and Papersave. Ensure high availability, performance, and usability of applications through proactive monitoring, updates, and patch management. Implement and manage SLAs for application support ensuring adherence to service delivery metrics. Data & Integration Oversight Oversee integrations between applications and data environments such as Azure Data Lakehouse (ADLS), Azure Fabric, ADF, and Synapse. Maintain data accuracy, accessibility, and governance across systems. Support analytics and reporting initiatives through Power BI and SQL-based datasets. Documentation & Compliance Create and maintain documentation including workflows, user guides, configuration logs, and change records. Ensure all applications comply with security, audit, and organizational policies. Training & Change Management Develop training plans, onboarding materials, and best practice guidelines for application users. Promote adoption of new tools, enhancements, and features using structured change management. Manage vendor relationships for off-the-shelf applications including licensing, renewals, SLAs, and contract negotiations. Coordinate with software providers and implementation partners to optimize application performance. Qualifications & Skills

5+ years’ experience in application management, business analysis, or systems implementation. Strong knowledge of enterprise application lifecycle management across both custom-built and COTS platforms. Proficiency in business process mapping, software implementation cycles, and project management methodologies. Familiarity with data governance, analytics, and integration best practices. Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
