We are seeking a reliable and skilled Kitchen Hood Suppression System Technician to join our fire protection team. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, installing, and maintaining commercial kitchen fire suppression systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards, manufacturer specifications, and local fire codes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the fire safety of restaurants, cafeterias, and other food service establishments. Key Responsibilities

Inspect, test, and maintain kitchen hood fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA 17A, NFPA 96, and local codes. Perform system installations, upgrades, and modifications as required. Replace system components such as nozzles, piping, fusible links, cylinders, and detection lines. Conduct semi-annual inspections and verify proper system functionality. Recharge and service suppression system cylinders. Ensure proper interconnection with gas/electric shut-off systems. Complete accurate service reports, inspection tags, and compliance documentation. Educate customers on system operation, maintenance requirements, and code compliance. Respond to emergency service calls as needed. Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in proper condition. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred. Previous experience with kitchen hood suppression systems or fire protection equipment (preferred). Knowledge of NFPA standards, local fire codes, and manufacturer guidelines. Certification/licensing for kitchen hood suppression systems (as required by state or AHJ). Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in confined or elevated spaces. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Work Environment

On-site servicing at restaurants, cafeterias, schools, hospitals, and commercial kitchens. Indoor/outdoor work, often in hot, greasy, or confined areas above cooking appliances. Standard hours with required availability for emergency calls and after-hours service. Benefits
