The Enterprise Architect (EA) ensures the development and implementation of business capabilities and the supporting technology solutions align with the companys technology infrastructure. The EA designs and oversees enterprise-wide application architecture that supports all business processes and technological solutions, ensuring efficient operation across the technology suite. The role is a critical part of Wakeferns systems transformation, mapping current, transition, and final states of the application landscape. Participates in the development lifecycle for new implementations and upgrades, and reviews architecture of software and hardware systems to fit Wakefern's technology, infrastructure, and business strategy. Coordinates production system reviews to recommend realignment and modernization for stability, performance, and longevity. Essential Functions
Partner with tech leadership to create the enterprise architecture strategy for current, transition, and future state technology solutions. Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks that align with business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders and tech teams to understand business requirements and determine fit with current architecture; recommend updates as needed. Provide guidance on technology trends and innovations to enhance business performance. Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient IT architectures that support operations. Ensure architectural solutions align with industry best practices and compliance requirements. Develop and maintain documentation related to enterprise architecture, including blueprints, standards, and guidelines. Manage the Enterprise Architecture repository and related diagrams (e.g. Application Portfolio Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams). Lead the development and adoption of architecture standards and best practices. Provide leadership and technical expertise during major IT projects; offer training to technology teams. Evaluate project proposals for alignment with the enterprise architecture; monitor progress to ensure adherence to principles and standards. Facilitate cross-department collaboration to achieve unified technology adoption. Conduct regular reviews of the enterprise application architecture to identify improvements and optimization opportunities. Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices to enhance the architectural framework. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning; guide governance of technology standards. Manage risks related to information and IT assets, including open-source components, through appropriate policies and controls. Develop technical designs for new platforms and integration with existing infrastructure in coordination with other technical units. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science preferred. 10+ years of related experience. 5-10 years of software architecture experience with at least 5 years in product development and web development. Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise application architectures in complex organizations. Experience with design patterns and SOA standards. Experience with all aspects of the SDLC and with DevOps solutions. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAF. Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or Google Cloud). Experience with enterprise integration patterns and technologies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders. Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Broad IT knowledge across applications development, testing, deployment, operations, documentation, security, and networking. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with customers, peers, and management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in; ability to work well in a team. Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple activities for maximum efficiency. Working Conditions & Physical Demands
