Qualcomm . Company: Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. | Job Area: Engineering Group, SoC Architecture General Summary

Qualcomm Data Center team is developing high performance, energy efficient server solutions for data center applications. We are looking for highly talented, innovative, teamwork-oriented individuals for our cutting-edge technology work. Our mission is to transform the industry by reimagining silicon and developing next-generation computing platforms. You will collaborate with world-class engineers to create innovative solutions that push the limits of performance, energy efficiency, and scalability, focusing on server-class high performance solutions optimized for server product needs. Position

Server System Architect We are seeking a specialist system architect to lead the definition and implementation of boot flows, reset mechanisms, debug infrastructure and diagnostic/recovery flows for a cutting-edge server-class SoC. You will be responsible for developing architectural and microarchitectural solutions to ensure reliable and secure mission-mode boot, recovery, and debug paths across multiple subsystems. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, firmware, RAS and security, requiring a deep understanding of silicon and system-level flows. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in server SoC architecture, systems design, or related silicon development roles. Strong expertise in SoC reset, boot, recovery flows for mission mode and test modes. Strong expertise in ARM SoC infrastructure components and architecture e.g. SMMU, GIC. Deep understanding of ARM CoreSight architecture and debug and trace infrastructure: JTAG, ETM, PTM, STM, crash log capture, etc. Deep understanding of hardware-firmware interaction, trust chains, fuse-based configurations, and system initialization. Experience writing architectural documentation and collaborating across cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with 15 years of experience in semiconductor product development (e.g., System design, SoC security architecture, Security HW design and validation, Silicon test, SW development). Expertise in ARM architecture specs like MPAM, RAS, especially as it applies to the SoC/System. Experience with server SoCs and at-scale debug deployments. Experience in performance optimizations and deployments of System MMU for server SoCs. Understanding of server platform power sequencing, reset control, and bootloader chaining. Good understanding of different types of run-time resets applicable to server SoCs. Experience in working with platform architects to drive chipset connectivity and multi-chiplet IO architecture. Contributions to industry standards (e.g., ACPI, UEFI, OCP, TCG, ARM SBSA). Key Responsibilities

Architect boot and reset flows for a SoC including cold boot, warm reset, secure boot, measured boot, and recovery paths. Define and drive the crash dump strategy, including failure containment, logging architecture, and capture mechanisms for post-mortem analysis. Collaborate with security architects to support early trust establishment, root of trust, and attestation during boot. Own and specify boot-time sequencing of power, clocks, fuses, and firmware handoff across subsystems. Define reset domains and reset propagation strategies for isolated fault recovery. Work closely with SoC integration, validation, software/firmware, and platform teams to ensure a seamless boot and debug experience. Lead or contribute to the development of firmware architecture for early boot and crash capture. Deliver detailed architecture specifications, timing diagrams, flowcharts, and interface definitions.
