Job focus : Global Market Foods is seeking a VP/General Manager to lead sales and operations at our Houston, TX location (Southwest region). The role oversees a period of significant growth and acquisition, with direct P&L accountability and management of sales and logistics teams. The VP/GM reports to the Chief Operating Officer with a dotted line to the EVP Sales & Marketing and drives revenue and profit through direct customer sales, distributor sales, safety and quality assurance, expansion into new segments, distribution, and operational efficiencies. Current regional sales are approximately $35 million. Essential Role Functions Translate corporate strategy into an executable plan Execute growth strategies through new markets, new segments, mergers, acquisitions, and cross-selling Maintain a culture focused on people safety and food safety Directly responsible for the performance of the site team Safety – ensure employees follow work safety processes Sales – ensure timely and consistent growth, customer visits, and sales effectiveness Expand points of distribution; train sales teams and introduce new acquisition items Grow the mainstream retail direct-store-delivery (DSD) program Logistics operations – deliver high service levels while controlling costs Manage expiration codes with procurement and sales Develop and protect key client and customer relationships Interface with existing clients to gain additional business and identify new markets Develop appropriate organizational structure to enable product development, quality, customers, geographies, and segments Develop the talent of your team Work Experience/Requirements For This Role Bachelor's degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or Operations Management Minimum of 10 years in senior leadership/general management positions Executive-level sales and/or marketing experience P&L management 5-10 years of food manufacturing or distributor experience (preferred) Experience in developing strong customer relationships and engagement Experience leading multiple functions and leaders of functions Schedule Days: Monday through Friday Hours: Typically 8 AM–5 PM Work Location: Houston, TX Benefits 401(k) matching Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Disability insurance Life insurance Paid time off Paid parental leave Tuition reimbursement Global Market Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer Seniority level Executive Employment type Full-time Job function Other Industries: Food and Beverage Services
