The University of California, Berkeley seeks a development analyst to provide high-level operational and analytic support to the leadership giving officers within intercollegiate athletics. This position acts as a key administrative liaison for external and internal constituencies, works independently in a fast-paced environment, and reports within the donor relations and athletics operations framework. The Assistant/Associate title depends on professional experience within 2–5 years. Responsibilities

Event coordination Plans, organizes and implements fundraising and Cal alumni engagement events. Provides comprehensive decision-making and project management in executing donor events, including: Tracking and implementing event deadlines Partnering with Prospect Development to create invitation lists and monitor RSVPs Managing gift officer outreach to prospects Producing or providing input on event communications, briefings for attending staff, invitations, follow-up correspondence, and other collateral Assists with follow-up communication for events with fundraisers and partners; manages day-of volunteers and operational staff Data management and analysis Lead strategies to track and analyze results of development activities, solicitation assignments, regional activity and fundraising goals. Manage reporting on overall fundraising program results to internal and external constituencies. Recommend additional data collection and reporting requirements. Collaborate with Prospect Development, Advancement Information Management, and others to ensure donor biographic and contact information remains up-to-date in the donor database. Ensure development activities are accurately recorded in the donor database. Program operations and administration Lead briefing materials and trip itineraries for athletic department leadership and coaches, including deadlines, collaboration with Prospect Research staff, drafting, and sharing materials. Manage proposals with leadership giving officers based on prospect and donor interests. Collaborate with athletics and campus partners to present accurate giving opportunities. Draft informational and marketing materials; draft correspondence and contact reports. Develop in-depth knowledge of regional development activities and key donor stakeholders; serve as a regional representative to internal and external constituencies. Monitor and document program activities for the region, maintain regional event calendars and track leadership travel. Coordinate campus visits and tours for prospective and current donors; identify opportunities to improve operations. Coordinate work of support staff to meet program deliverables and goals; provide stewardship ideas and execution; provide administrative support as needed. Qualifications

Strong knowledge of event planning and public relations concepts, including event design, organization and production. Ability to learn campus vision, policies, and procedures; knowledge of University policies relating to facilities, events and presentation. Judgment in decision-making and ability to manage events within budget and time constraints. Organizational and project management skills to deliver high-quality events and donor stewardship. Interpersonal communication with diverse populations; strong verbal and written communication skills. Judgment and problem-solving skills; ability to recognize issues requiring management attention. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment, supervision, motivation and evaluation. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure. Ability to work with invited guests, donors, government officials and university VIPs. Knowledge of crowd management, safety protocols, and emergency procedures for events. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training. Salary & benefits
