Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company Share interest in technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, mentor other engineers, and, from time to time, code or evaluate code Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive experiences for millions of Americans Use programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala; work with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases; utilize Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes; and employ AWS tools and services Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) At least 2 years of people management experience Qualifications
Master's Degree 7+ years of experience in Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks 5+ years of people management experience 2+ years of experience in Agile practices Other

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked. McLean, VA: $193,400 - $220,700 for Manager, Software Engineering Richmond, VA: $175,800 - $200,700 for Manager, Software Engineering Locations outside these areas follow the pay range for that location; the actual offer will be documented in the offer letter. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives, depending on the plan.
