MID Level Applications / Software Developer
to provide Information Technology Engineering and support services to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). As an Applications / Software Developer, you will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, performance tuning, provisioning, and recovery procedures for multiple project systems. You will be part of a team of administrators and engineers supporting the IT infrastructure for a variety of enterprise systems. The ability to identify, communicate, and resolve technical issues is important in all aspects of this role. Also able to create and implement into Cloud Based environments and architectures. As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities
Configure, install, and troubleshoot applications in GovCloud environments and on?premises servers Develop procedures, programs and documentation for IT system, backup and restoration of operating systems, data replication across cloud data centers, and RMF artifacts such as the System Security Contingency Plan and Disaster Recovery Procedure Conduct risk and vulnerability assessment for systems and perform migrations as required; participate in network and system design to ensure implementation of appropriate system security policies; perform STIG and IA validation as required Apply required IA and security requirements and other operating system and software updates Design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting NAVSEA enterprise systems Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation of applications Configure and optimize application performance for speed, scalability, and security Implement provisioning and deployment procedures for multiple software environments Develop recovery and contingency plans to ensure system continuity Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure security compliance and system reliability Support migration and integration of applications to cloud or hybrid environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure Government, AWS GovCloud) Implement solutions leveraging cloud-native services, ensuring security, compliance, and scalability Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and at least 10 years of relevant engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in relevant field and at least 5 years of relevant engineering experience OR Masters degree in Software Development Exceptional attention to detail Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Good written and oral communication skills Team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision Strong analytic, quantitative, logic and reasoning skills United States Citizenship required Active DoD SECRET Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge / experience in Java (J2EE & JSF) Oracle experience (Database, WebLogic, Enterprise Manager) Experience with Web Enterprise Application Experience with Web Servers Experience in Red Hat 8 PrimeFaces Eclipse IDE Visual Studio 2019 Visual Basic .Net / C# .Net 16.0 MS Access 2016 Windows 10 / 11 / Server Prior DoD systems experience Experience with process improvement methods Company Summary
