Overview
Base pay range: $45.67/hr - $47.67/hr. The Group Sales Manager is responsible for representing the company to customers and external sources, executing the hotel’s sales strategy to achieve occupancy, ADR and market share goals, and developing and implementing account/segment-based sales plans. The role involves listening to customer needs, creating tailored proposals, negotiating and closing sales, and ensuring quality, timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner while coordinating with operations and management. Responsibilities
Develop new accounts, maintain existing accounts, and implement sales strategies to meet revenue goals and maximize hotel profits while maintaining guest satisfaction. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to generate sales; sell hotel rooms through direct client contact. Participate in and maintain an active sales solicitation program. Attend client events and prospect for additional sales leads as a representative of hotel management. Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals; produce regular reports and sales forecasts. Create and implement hotel-level tactical sales plans to drive occupancy and rate growth; deliver activities to exceed revenue plans. Analyze market and sales trends and coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share. Participate in daily business review meetings, funnel reviews, pre-convention meetings, training, and other sales-related meetings. Lead team-based sales tasks when applicable and participate in required hotel meetings and training. Coordinate with other hotel departments to facilitate contracted services for clients. Identify operational opportunities that impact marketing and sales performance and work with department heads to implement solutions. Operate within the established sales expense budget. Maintain positive relationships with local officials and community groups to enhance the hotel’s image. Deliver Sonesta Service standards in all guest and client interactions; resolve guest inquiries and complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction. Act as “Manager on Duty” as required and perform other duties as assigned. Maintain knowledge of company policies, procedures, and standards; adhere to attendance and grooming standards; be familiar with hotel services and local attractions. Qualifications
A four-year college degree in hospitality management, marketing, business or related field or equivalent experience. Three or more years of group hotel sales experience; prior hospitality sales, conference planning or convention skills preferred. Strong understanding of the San Francisco market is highly preferred. Ability to travel locally and overnight; ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing; professional verbal and written communication skills. Mathematical skills including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances; problem solving and organizational abilities. Experience with Microsoft Office, Delphi.FDC, and Opera systems preferred. Benefits
