Austal USA . REPORTS TO: Director, Strategy & Business Development SUPERVISES: N/A Responsibilities
Identify, assess and develop new business opportunities, primarily Navy, Marine Corps, and Military Sealift Command. Assess customer requirements. Develop and execute capture plans, including preparing and presenting gate reviews to the senior leadership team. Lead assigned capture efforts. Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential customers, including Key PEOs and program offices, cognizant OPNAV branches, NAVSEA sections and labs, ONR and other potential R&D customers, and offices on OSD and Navy staff. Support Business Development processes, including funnel management, capture management, and proposal development. Prepare gate reviews and manage/track status of teaming agreements and NDAs; support proposal development efforts; manage budget for assigned captures. Support strategic business development planning efforts, including long-range strategy and strategic path to develop commercial revenue and maintain existing programs for Austal USA; develop business forecasts and marketing plans. Track the President’s budget submission process for government programs with emphasis on National Defense Sealift Fund and other non-DoD shipbuilding programs. Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
Bachelor’s degree required 5 years’ business development experience in the DoD market, including leading and supporting capture efforts for large programs Thorough understanding of the capture process; knowledge of the DoD acquisition process as related to DoN ship procurement Experience preparing winning proposals and leading capture efforts for shipbuilding programs; formal proposal training desired Ability to lead and manage in a fast-paced and changing environment; proven ability to set tasks and listen to staff and customers Excellent communication skills; ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, specifications Desired qualifications: experience in maritime industry; Navy officer or experience with firms in Navy shipbuilding/repair; technical background in ship design; experience with Navy R&D programs and agencies Tools

Full discretionary authority to assign work to capture/proposal teams Liaises With
External customers including US government agencies and commercial firms; all Austal USA departments involved in compliant proposals; major subcontractors and suppliers; all levels of Austal USA organization Additional Guidelines
Position can be based in Mobile, AL or Washington, DC. Regular travel required. Overtime and weekends may be required to meet deadlines and support/lead proposal efforts. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance and provide proof of US Person status Salary
Salary range depends on relevant experience. $96,044.00 - $137,868.00 Equal Employment Commitment
