Applied Scientist II, Special Projects at Amazon. Innovators wanted! This role is part of an Amazon Special Projects team that advances the Think Big leadership principle to the limits. You will focus on building state-of-the-art ML models for healthcare in an open, collaborative, startup-like environment. In This Role, You Will
Design and implement novel AI/ML solutions for complex healthcare challenges Drive advancements in machine learning and data science Balance theoretical knowledge with practical implementation Work closely with customers and partners to understand their requirements Navigate ambiguity and create clarity in early-stage product development Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions Establish best practices for ML experimentation, evaluation, development and deployment Partner with leadership to define roadmap and strategic initiatives Basic Qualifications
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Statistics, Biostatistics, or related quantitative field Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++ Experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) Expert knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and predictive modeling; solid understanding of large language models 3+ years of industry experience in applied machine learning or related technical field Expertise in developing and deploying production ML systems Track record of delivering complex, ambiguous projects from concept to production Preferred Qualifications
Experience in deep learning models for healthcare Strong communication skills Ability to translate complex technical concepts to stakeholders Experience presenting to senior executives History of successful collaboration with cross functional product, engineering, and business teams About The Team
