Overview
At Central City Concern’s Hooper Detoxification Stabilization Center (HDSC), our 60-bed, medically monitored detox program provides a setting where counselors and medical staff work hand-in-hand to stabilize, assess, and connect patients with the right next level of care. We’re looking for passionate, skilled On-Call SUDs Counselors who thrive in fast-paced, team-centered environments and are committed to helping individuals experiencing withdrawal, homelessness, and co-occurring challenges. What You’ll Do
Provide compassionate counseling and support during withdrawal management. Conduct thorough ASAM-based assessments and create discharge plans tailored to patient needs. Connect clients with treatment programs, recovery supports, and community resources. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, technicians, and case managers on patient-centered care. Empower individuals using motivational interviewing and strength-based approaches. What We’re Looking For
Current CADC-1, 2, or 3. Experience with assessments, documentation, and case management. Knowledge of addiction, homelessness, and co-occurring disorders. Strong counseling skills, including motivational interviewing. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Why Join Hooper?

Location : Hooper Detoxification Stabilization Center (1535 N. Williams Avenue, Portland) Schedule : Monday - Friday (7:30am - 6:00pm). We are currently in need and looking for someone with morning availability. Hourly Compensation CADC-1: $25.76 - $33.49 CADC-2 or 3: $28.40 - $36.92 (Compensation can vary based on licensure, certifications, and professional experience) Minimum Qualifications
Must have one of the following: CADC-1, CADC-2, or CADC-3. Experience with assessments and documentation required. Efficient computer literacy preferred; Epic experience highly preferred. Must have a High School Diploma or GED; advanced degree preferred. Case management or referral specialist experience in addition to A&D Counseling preferred. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA. CPR certification and Adult First Aid Certification required prior to start date. Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and criminal background check. OAR prohibits certain convictions for A&D program staff. Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to interact with diverse individuals and treat everyone with respect and dignity. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Perform and review assessments based on ASAM – PPC 2R criteria and diagnose using DSM-5 criteria. Develop a needs and service plan with a focus on discharge planning. Interview and interact with clients to increase motivation. Work with Hooper Clinical Team, Nursing, and Subacute Technicians to achieve treatment, wellness and recovery goals. Refer individuals to appropriate treatment programs and community support for follow-up care. Facilitate patient access for direct contact to service agencies. Participate in direct treatment of individuals and attend clinical staff meetings. Coordinate transportation for individuals as needed. Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities. Maintain appropriate and timely client records and clinical documentation. Adhere to privacy regulations (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2) and CCC confidentiality policies. Conduct treatment groups as needed and develop resource information for the team. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills And Abilities
Demonstrated counseling skills with individuals and groups. Knowledge of community and social service agencies; experience with Motivational Interviewing. Knowledge of substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and treatment modalities. Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation. Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills. Ability to provide leadership.
