We are seeking a seasoned Associate General Counsel to join our in-house legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of legal matters—from employment law and litigation management to corporate transactions and contract negotiation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-moving environment and brings a pragmatic, business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving. Responsibilities
Employment Law
: Advise on employee relations, compliance, and HR policies; manage outside counsel in employment litigation and administrative proceedings; negotiate and resolve employment claims Litigation Management
: Oversee truck accident litigation and other claims; coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders; attend mediations as company representative Corporate Transactions
: Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and NDAs; support M&A activity and corporate structuring Corporate Governance
: Prepare operating agreements, member consents, resolutions, and other governance documents; ensure compliance with corporate formalities across affiliates Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in Michigan or eligible for in-house counsel registration Minimum 10 years of legal experience in any combination of : Employment law; Litigation (particularly transportation or personal injury); Corporate transactional work Strong drafting and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Experience working with or within fast-paced, entrepreneurial organizations What We Offer
