Senior Privacy & Product Counsel

As a core member of Amplitude's Legal team, you will drive our global privacy program, guide product development with practical legal advice, and partner cross-functionally with teams across the company. You will impact employees, customers, and partners, balancing business strategy with legal and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing throughout the product lifecycle to proactively manage legal and privacy compliance. Work closely with Amplitude's AI team on product development. Develop and maintain Amplitude's global privacy program, including policies, procedures, and training. Maintain subject matter expertise on privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, US state laws, etc.) and advise teams on regulatory requirements. Provide legal guidance on marketing campaigns, collateral, and related activities. Collaborate with Information Security on best practices for protecting confidential and personal information. Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements (vendor agreements, customer contracts, DPAs, BAAs). Continuously improve standard privacy agreements and scale legal operations and processes. Support the broader needs of a growing legal team and business. Qualifications

5+ years of privacy/product counsel experience, ideally with both in-house and law firm exposure. JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar. CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification. Deep knowledge of global privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, and others). Experience counseling on product issues beyond just privacy and data protection. Experience with AI and other emerging technologies. A self-starter mindset with the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Strong communication skills; the ability to talk and write clearly. A collaborative, low-ego approach, balanced with the ability to work independently. Preferred

Colorado: $190,000-$286,000; New York City: $212,000-$319,000; San Francisco Bay Area: $212,000-$319,000; California (outside SF Bay Area): $190,000-$286,000; Washington state: $190,000-$286,000; Washington state (specific): unlimited PTO, holidays, and retirement plan details. Privacy notice:
