Responsibilities
Perform a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, incorporating various system components, and refining rough sketches.
Prepare complete PFDs and P&IDs from verbal or written descriptions from the design engineer.
Execute basic formulas, principles and practices, and apply fundamental concepts pertaining to the piping discipline.
Perform drawing, planning, development and production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
Review designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects for quality assurance.
Review reports, drawings, and tests to plan design projects to meet deliverables.
Perform project tasks within budgeted hours and deadlines.
Maintain clear and concise written and verbal communications related to project client coordination.
Travel domestically a minimum of 5% with additional travel as assigned for internal meetings and client visits. Telecommuting up to 30 days per year is permitted.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field plus seven (7) years of detailing and design experience. Alternatively, nine (9) years of detailing and design experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus seven (7) years of described experience.
Minimum seven (7) years of experience with:
AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Applications.
Applying design fundamentals, calculations, and design systems as applicable from industry standard codes including ASME, API, and PIP requirements.
Understanding other disciplines data input needs, schedule requirements, and interactions within the design space.
Operating discipline design software, such as Adobe, Excel, or web-based applications.
Minimum domestic travel requirement of 5% with additional travel as assigned for internal meetings and client visits. Telecommuting up to 30 days per year is permitted.
