Overview
Admitting Worker SR-Fulltime-Days at UC Irvine (UCI Health). This role supports departmental efficiencies through tasks such as scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission and admission, reception and discharge functions. The position requires obtaining complete and accurate patient demographic information and employing compliant patient liability collection techniques as needed before, during, and after the date of service. Responsibilities
Perform scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission and admission, reception and discharge duties. Obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information. Apply proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques. Interpret physician orders, medical terminology and insurance cards while maintaining Standards of Care. Support two or more Patient Access service areas as needed, including ED. Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 0–1 year in a Customer Service role. Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm. Demonstrated working knowledge of PC/CRT/printer. Customer service skills and experience; ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to receive and express detailed information through oral and written communications. Course in Medical Terminology required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System. Ability to interpret physician orders, medical terminology and insurance cards while maintaining Standards of Care. Preferred Qualifications
0–1 year administrative experience in medical facility, health insurance, or related area preferred. Some college coursework is preferred. Knowledge of hospital environment, Third Party Payor requirements, Compliance standards, and University/medical center policies and forms. Total Compensation and Benefits
