Role/Department: Senior HR Business Partner, Wealth Management/HR Consulting. The Senior HR Business Partner serves as the primary HR relationship manager with the most senior leadership of assigned business unit(s) or geographies and ensures effective coordination between business clients, HR Consulting Function partners and COEs to strategically deliver HR solutions. It integrates corporate HR strategies and provides HR solutions and support to add value to the business and designated internal clients. The Senior HR Business Partner consults with assigned senior managers to interpret and apply corporate human resources programs to the business and participates in the development, implementation and ongoing feedback/modification of HR programs. The focus of this role is on the future of the organization and the Senior HR Business Partner is part of the leadership in the business, helping drive business decisions by delivering the appropriate HR support. It uses specific knowledge of a discipline to achieve goals through own work and provides guidance as a project manager or consultant.

Responsibilities

Contributes to the development of the business strategy by partnering with business leaders to identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, competencies, skills, and processes.

Develops and leads execution of HR strategy, aligned with strategic priorities of assigned business unit(s) or geographies on workforce issues, including alignment of talent priorities to business strategy.

Utilizes data to proactively identify opportunities for HR to add value and assess program efficacy.

Leads major people initiatives within business units or geographies and collaborates with COEs on performance management, compensation planning, recruitment strategy, engagement, and development. Supports managers in forecasting and developing talent pipelines in line with strategy and demographics.

Identifies HR policy or program changes and recommends practices to the appropriate HR area.

Provides expert advice and coaching to senior managers and employees as appropriate.

Drives change through the business and HR programs using change management tools.

Interacts with senior levels of business management as a trusted advisor, building consultative relationships.

Builds relationships with Sr. HRBPs/HRBPs/Associate HRBPs to stay informed on trends and issues and share updates related to client groups.

Acts as liaison between line and HR COEs to align client needs with HR activities.

Participates in or leads committees or projects to develop, implement and administer HR programs and policies, often requiring cross-functional coordination.

Leads others to solve complex problems and uses analytical thought to identify innovative solutions.

Impacts achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives.

May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements and risk.

Qualifications

15 or more years of relevant proven work experience within HR, focused on organizational and leadership skills

Expertise in strategic consulting

Expertise in utilizing data to drive business decisions

Domain expertise in HR policy and process

Exceptional relationship management and communication skills

Deep financial acumen and innovative thinking

Strategic risk assessment and management

Expertise in conflict resolution

Experience in Wealth Management/Asset Management or Financial Services in a Senior HR Business Partner role is highly desired

Experience in organizational effectiveness, including workforce planning and org design is desired

Working Model Hybrid model: The successful candidate will spend time between the office and working from home.

Salary Range $137,400 - 233,600 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits, health and welfare benefits, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. A discretionary bonus program may include an equity component.
