Overview
Construction Property Underwriter (Mid-Senior or Senior) – Zurich North America. Zurich is hiring a Construction Property Underwriter to join the Construction team. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will apply and hone underwriting and marketing skills while building relationships with preferred distribution partners in the territory. This role focuses on complex construction risk types across Auto, GL, Lead Umbrella, and Worker’s Compensation, with a focus on environmental contractors within Zurich's environmental practice. The role will be filled at either the Mid-Senior or Senior level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based on the selected applicant’s experience and qualifications. Responsibilities
Serve as a customer industry advocate with a focus on improving the customer experience by understanding risk and offering end-to-end insurance solutions. Apply a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing. Use risk insights, data, and models to drive informed decisions at the point of sale. Market facing and production within the growing Construction division. Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules. Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments. Basic Qualifications
Mid-Senior Construction Property Underwriter
High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years of experience in underwriting or market facing areas; OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 1+ years of underwriting or market facing experience; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 4+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support, AND Knowledge of Commercial Property line(s) of business and related regulations; knowledge of quote time constraints; proficiency in Microsoft Office. Senior Construction Property Underwriter
High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years of underwriting or market facing experience; OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years of Claims or Underwriting Support experience; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 3+ years of underwriting or market facing experience; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 8+ years of Claims or Underwriting Support experience, AND Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to work with time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business; ability to work in a team environment.
