Overview
Valuation Senior Associate at Withum. The Senior Associate works in the Forensic and Valuation Services Group within the Corporate Value Consulting Team. The role can be based out of any US office location.
Responsibilities
Overseeing valuation analyses for tax, financial reporting, and advisory purposes (enterprise values, stock options, warrants, convertible debt, equity allocations across complex capital structures, and other complex securities/derivatives) primarily in Excel
Implementing and improving processes in performing valuations and preparing client deliverables (reports, letters)
Assisting in review of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes
Assisting in developing and maintaining models using Excel and VBA for Monte Carlo, lattices, or other complex methods as requested
Reviewing and understanding the tax and financial reporting guidance governing the analysis
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or similar quantitative discipline
2+ years of performing valuations for financial reporting purposes (ASC 805, ASC 305, ASC 820, ASC 718) is required
In-depth understanding of valuation methods such as discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing
Experience in valuation of complex financial instruments is strongly preferred
Valuation related certification including ASA, CVA, ABV, CEIV, or CFA
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Capital IQ preferred
Ability to program in VBA and/or other statistical packages is a plus
Capacity to work independently on projects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation and other notes The compensation for this position varies by location.
