Welcome to the forefront of innovation in cutting edge patient centered treatments! We are seeking a Director, Automation. This billable, client-facing role focuses on training, mentoring, and coaching teams in the evolution and continued operational excellence of Project Farma’s practice areas. Candidates can be based out of any geography but will be onsite at a client's manufacturing plant. Successful candidates combine technical expertise with business acumen, advanced people- and team-building skills, and a consulting mindset to deliver technical and business solutions.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. This position may require significant travel to support project and business needs. A valid driver's license is required.
Essential functions of the position:
Project Delivery and Team Member Development
Manage teams at various client sites to ensure consistency of technical services, compliant with client and Project Farma processes and standards and responsiveness to client and employee requirements.
Collaboratively identify and implement employee performance and development plans to meet individual development and organizational growth goals.
Direct and manage teams executing projects with responsibility for technical solutions, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
Lead initiatives ensuring Team Members understand goals and responsibilities, manage priorities, and ensure timely, high-quality work.
Support project direction and strategy based on client vision and expected outcomes throughout the project delivery life cycle.
Support resource planning and define project objectives and requirements.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert providing technical direction, training, career development and performance assessments to ensure high-quality delivery.
Build and maintain high performing teams to ensure successful account management and growth.
Business Development & Strategy
Drive business development across assigned accounts by proactively identifying opportunities to expand services.
Track site dashboards to monitor project health and expansion opportunities.
Lead and oversee client project initiatives to identify new and added services for mutual benefit.
Assist in developing and executing strategic plans to meet growth targets.
Maintain client accounts with a focus on project delivery and growth opportunities.
Collaborate with client leadership to facilitate workflow development, project scope, risk assessment, issue resolution, and planning.
Provide direction for service and process improvements, cost reduction, and optimization.
Stay current with biomanufacturing trends and translate marketplace changes into new opportunities.
Support cross-site/cross-account business development tools to drive impact.
Examples of core services include: Capital Project Management (including Project Controls and Scheduling); Facility Management & Builds; Tech Transfers; Validation Life Cycle (including Commissioning and Qualification, Computer System Validation); GxP Automated Systems; Due Diligence & Business Strategy; Quality, Regulatory, & Compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Life Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline (or equivalent work experience in CQV engineering, automation controls, cGMP facility start-up, or related military experience).
8+ years in advanced therapy, life science, pharmaceutical, or biotech experience.
6 years of managing high-performing teams.
4 years of business development, lead generation, or sales experience.
Automation expertise in PLC, DCS, SCADA with emphasis on Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Siemens systems.
Experience translating client visions into project direction and delivering results.
Travel as needed to fulfill business initiatives.
Experience acting as a trusted strategic advisor to organizational decision-makers.
Proven technical and managerial capabilities in developing solutions and managing deliverables and client expectations.

Our playbook supports project management, validation, engineering, quality/compliance, and consulting services for life science partners worldwide.
Reasonable estimate of the current compensation range: $50,000 - $240,000 USD. This range reflects various factors including skill, experience, and location. The role is eligible for discretionary bonus and benefits described above.
