Base pay range
$150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr We've partnered with an engineering company developing novel carbon storage infrastructure based on advanced electrochemical and mineralization processes. With a successful demonstration system already operating, the company is entering a critical phase of industrial deployment, scaling up their technology for use across heavy infrastructure and process-intensive environments. As they transition into this build phase, we are seeking a Head of Hardware Engineering to lead the design, development, and field deployment of their core systems. This role will be pivotal in scaling the platform from a working pilot into a repeatable industrial solution, delivering measurable, verifiable carbon sequestration at meaningful scale. Reporting directly to the executive team, this role offers significant influence on system architecture, execution strategy, and long-term deployment success. Responsibilities
Lead development of large-scale hardware systems with mechanical, electrical, and fluid process components. Oversee end-to-end design, build, and installation of the company’s first commercial-scale project. Collaborate directly with industrial customers to understand operational requirements and integration constraints. Guide process engineering, mechanical design, and systems automation, with a focus on reliable field deployment. Build internal processes for design reviews, testing, safety, and site commissioning Develop product roadmaps to support replication across industrial sites and long-term scaling of CO₂ storage capacity. Success Criteria
5+ years of experience working in or adjacent to heavy industry mining, oil & gas, cement, aggregates, or large-scale process equipment. Direct experience designing and implementing complex physical systems for industrial applications including familiarity with design-for-installation and long-term maintenance in challenging environments Hands-on prototyping and build skills with comfort operating across mechanical, electrical, and automation disciplines as needed. Experience with EPC workflows, vendor engagement, and site-level implementation Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide teams and coordinate field execution This is an opportunity to lead the development of a high-impact industrial platform grounded in novel chemistry, advanced hardware, and real-world implementation. You’ll be joining a highly technical team at a pivotal moment, helping bring a first-of-a-kind carbon storage system to life. For more information, reach out to our team or apply today!
