Full-Time A well-established, law firm is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its Virginia team. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with substantial experience in criminal defense litigation who is passionate about advocacy and committed to delivering high-quality legal representation. Responsibilities
Represent clients in felony and misdemeanor matters across local, state, and federal courts Manage cases from intake through trial or resolution, including arraignment, plea negotiations, and courtroom litigation Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients throughout the lifecycle of their case Collaborate with and supervise assigned staff, including paralegals and junior attorneys Ensure timely and effective resolution of assigned cases Stay current with developments in Virginia criminal law and contribute to firm-wide initiatives Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law in Virginia 3–5 years of substantial criminal defense litigation experience Proven success in courtroom advocacy and case strategy Strong knowledge of Virginia criminal law, procedures, and local court systems Ability to manage complex caseloads independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff preferred Spanish fluency and experience with appellate or post-conviction relief cases are a plus Previous clerkship experience is an advantage Additional Information
