Overview Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role at Acadia Healthcare for a new flagship behavioral health hospital in St. Johns, Florida (near Jacksonville).

Lead the launch of Acadia’s newest flagship facility in Florida. The hospital will offer a full continuum of services including inpatient psychiatric care, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).

The CFO is a member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for overall financial operations and the day-to-day fiscal management of the facility.

Responsibilities

Ensure monthly financial statements are completed timely and accurately.

Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly in compliance with company policies; identify and correct variances promptly.

Prepare corporate-required reports (including the Monthly Operating Report, Monthly Certifications, Corporate Disclosures, and Forecasts) timely and accurately.

Maintain accounting and business office policies and internal controls to support a clean audit with no material deficiencies; ensure that all approval processes are in place.

Direct Revenue Cycle operations to ensure timely accounts receivable collection, minimize uncompensated care, and monitor metrics to improve overall performance.

Oversee Front End Revenue Cycle processes, including insurance verification for all patients, determining patient portions, approving discounts/charity, and logging upfront collections.

Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate payments and revenue deductions; facilitate cost report preparation as needed.

Supervise Accounting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, Materials Management and other departments as assigned; ensure adequate staffing and training.

Ensure compliance with Group Purchasing contracts and monitor purchases to control supply costs.

Prepare the annual operating budget and participate in strategic planning; analyze variances and support management in achieving budget goals.

Prepare annual capital budgets and Capital Equipment Requests; ensure assets and depreciation are recorded accurately and in line with policy.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or business-related field with major in Accounting.

Minimum 3 years of CFO experience in a healthcare setting is desired.

Behavioral health experience and experience with a proprietary healthcare system are highly preferred.

CPA or Master’s degree is a plus.

Proven financial analysis skills; strong IT proficiency with Excel and Word.

Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities and the capacity to build effective relationships with facility staff, physicians and corporate staff.

Ability to lead with emotional intelligence and strong ethics.
