Overview
A remediation construction company is looking to hire a Senior Project Accountant to work out of their office in the Oakland area. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, including Work in Progress (WIP), Percentage of Completion (POC), lien waivers, change orders, AIA, and job costing. Position details: full-time, permanent role with competitive base salary and benefits. Salary range listed: $75,000 - $110,000 per year. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Prepare and analyze monthly WIP and POC reports. Handle all aspects of change orders, including preparation, submission, tracking, and reconciliation. Manage lien waivers and ensure compliance with all contractual and legal requirements. Utilize accounting software such as Timberline, Sage, Vista, and Vista Viewpoint for efficient and accurate financial management. Conduct job costing analysis and provide insights and recommendations to improve profitability. Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Review and approve invoices, ensuring they comply with contractual terms and conditions. Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts to senior management. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards in the construction industry. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting and finance. Proficient in construction accounting software such as Timberline, Sage, Vista, and Vista Viewpoint. In-depth understanding of construction accounting principles and practices, including WIP, POC, lien waivers, change orders, AIA, and job costing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
