Our Forensic team is a collaborative group of architects, engineers, fire investigators, and building consultants who provide expert analysis for clients including insurance firms, law firms, developers, and property owners. We work on complex projects involving property damage, construction defects, and design errors, with a strong pipeline of challenging assignments across industries. Responsibilities
Perform forensic field inspections and analysis of residential and commercial buildings. Develop high-quality technical reports, repair scopes, and client deliverables. Support project management, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and utilization targets are met. Collaborate with team members to review work product, share knowledge, and deliver consistent results. Communicate findings effectively with clients, colleagues, and leadership. Maintain compliance with industry regulations, codes, and company standards. Contribute to business objectives by producing reliable, profitable work product. Travel as required throughout region to perform site investigations and support client needs. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related technical field. 1–4 years of experience in building design, construction, or inspection. EIT required for engineers; PE preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with construction codes preferred. Physical ability to access roofs, crawl spaces, and uneven terrain. Compensation & Benefits
The annualized base pay range for this role is $90-140k. VERTEX offers a solid total compensation package including base salary and discretionary bonus plan. We also offer a robust benefits package including healthcare (with multiple plan options) and dental; Company-paid Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability. We offer a 401k plan with immediate match and vesting, Flex Spending Account, Employee Assistance Program, and other perks. We provide a generous paid time off plan for eligible employees including 15 days of vacation, 64 hours of sick time, and 9.5 paid holidays (prorated for eligible part-time employees).
