Software Engineer (Python/Linux/Packaging)

at Canonical for Python, Packaging and Linux skills to support the day-to-day workflow of snap, rock and charm publishers and to help ship software to a wide audience. Responsibilities

Design and maintain specialist Python tools to support the developer build and publication process. Develop tooling that builds snaps, charms and Rocks. Contribute to Snapcraft, Charmcraft and Rockcraft to enable delivery of updates and packaging of software for Ubuntu-based environments. Collaborate with external open source and commercial projects to understand and serve community needs. Qualifications

Expertise in Python. Strong understanding of the makeup of a modern GNU/Linux distribution. Good understanding of build systems and toolchains, including for cross-compilation. Experience with container technology (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, LXD). Ability to extend the snap build ecosystem using languages, toolchains, frameworks, integrations, and CI systems. Experience working with external open source and commercial projects to understand user needs. What we offer you
