Reporting to the Senior Director of Principal, Major, and Planned Giving, the Major and Planned Giving Officer (MPGO) will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned gift donors for the Spaulding Rehabilitation network. The MPGO will develop strategies and solicitation plans for defined prospects capable of making outright and/or planned gifts at five-, six-, and seven-figure levels. The MPGO will help plan and execute efforts to promote planned giving options and our Francis Hooks Burr Society, and oversee Spaulding\'s comprehensive grateful patient fundraising program with focus on our four inpatient hospitals and select outpatient sites. Major Gifts Portfolio Work Carry a defined, targeted portfolio of prospects capable of making a major ($20,000+) or planned/deferred gift commitment to Spaulding. Develop strategies and plans within an effective moves management structure to form relationships with key constituencies and raise significant dollars and resources for Spaulding. Meet defined prospect and donor interaction metrics determined with the Senior Director of Principal, Major, and Planned Giving (SDPMPG), including visits and gift solicitations. Collaborate with Spaulding leadership, the Board of Trustees, physicians, and other stakeholders to develop fundraising strategies. Ensure all donor interactions, forecasts, and strategies are recorded in the Atlas (CRM) database as outlined by the Development Systems team. Planned Giving Work In conjunction with the SDPMPG, serve as a planned giving resource for the Development team and collaborate on planned and blended gift strategies. Develop a strategic plan for marketing planned gift and bequest options; work with Development Communications to produce materials, track responses, and determine follow-up steps. Periodically review Spaulding\'s planned giving web pages and recommend edits to Development Communications. Recommend and help execute annual stewardship touchpoints with Hooks Burr Society members. Stay current on tax law changes and planned gift strategies; present information to colleagues and stakeholders. Grateful Patient Program Management Oversee the ongoing grateful patient fundraising program, partnering with clinicians to identify and cultivate grateful patients to build the donor pool. Work with the Associate Director of Prospect Development and Stewardship (ADPDS) to ensure wealth screening of outpatients and distribution of regular reports to maintain a pipeline of new prospects. Monitor and measure KPIs for referrals, visits, prospects, and proposals/closed gifts. Serve as Development staff liaison to select outpatient sites for grateful patient strategy and coordinate monthly meetings with clinical staff; prepare materials. Deliver presentations and reports to increase awareness of the program; coordinate training and educational initiatives across Spaulding. Collaborate with Development Communications to develop materials for marketing and visibility of the program. Qualifications Required:

None Experience 5+ years of major gifts and/or planned giving fundraising experience, preferably in a hospital/healthcare or academic setting, with success in six-figure gifts. Proficiency in planned giving concepts, including tax and investment terminology and tailored gift proposals. Ability to motivate and work with high-value prospects, donors, volunteers, and senior staff collaboratively. Experience with stewardship and donor recognition programs is a plus. Ability to understand and explain complex medical conditions and terminology. Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rule is required. Skills Excellent communication and writing skills. Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and fundraising/CRM databases (e.g., Raiser\'s Edge, Blackbaud CRM) and planned giving tools (e.g., PG Calc). Ability to build meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Problem-solving, judgment, professionalism, adaptability, trustworthiness, and respect. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Adherence to patient privacy and hospital protocols; alignment with Spaulding and Mass General Brigham values.
