Inside Higher Ed Position Summary: The Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver seeks to hire adjunct instructors for the 2024-2025 academic year to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. These may include, but are not limited to, studio instruction in multiple music styles, ensemble directing or coaching, and academic courses. Responsibilities
Provide instruction in academic classes, ensembles, and/or applied music Assist in auditioning and recruiting students for studio instruction (where applicable) Grade student work including assignments, exams, juries, and comprehensive assessments related to degree completion Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to recruit students for studio instruction (where applicable) Teach and work effectively with diverse populations Communicate clearly and effectively with students, faculty, and staff Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Music or equivalent professional experience Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience in higher education Regional, national, or international reputation in area(s) of expertise Work Schedule
Faculty schedules vary by term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. Administrative offices are open Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Academic calendars are posted on the registrar’s website. Application Deadline
