Accounting Manager Oakland, CA (Hybrid) Pay: 55-65/hr Are you a seasoned accounting & finance professional with strong experience with grants and managing billing and financial processes within the non-profit industry? Do you have experience using Sage Intacct and being hands-on as an accounting and finance leader? We are looking for a senior finance and accounting professional for a new job opportunity in Oakland, CA. This role would be excellent for someone who is strong with budgeting and planning, extensive non-profit experience, and familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200). Key Responsibilities Manage billing and financial processes Support with monthly and quarterly end close Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and subrecipients for project budgets, spending plans, and voucher requests. Analyze and review project budgets, ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and determine allowable costs. Oversee pass-through funding, ensuring accurate and timely payments to subrecipients and correct billing. Support project managers in budget planning and cost management for new and ongoing projects. Prepare and submit required financial reports to grantors.

Requirements

Strong experience with government grant accounting, especially DoD or federal grants. 5+ years of experience as an accounting manager, senior accountant, finance leader in a non-profit organization Experience with Sage Intacct and ADP Deep knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and allowable cost principles is a plus Experience with government billing systems Proven ability to manage complex project budgets and work with multiple stakeholders. Ability to work independently Experience in nonprofit, university, or research grant environments is highly valued.
