Critical Care Nurse II: SICU/Neuro ICU NIGHTS

Join our dedicated team in the Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SICU and Neuro ICU), a cutting-edge facility equipped with 30 specialized intensive care beds designed for adults facing life-threatening conditions. We serve a diverse patient population, providing essential care for both neuro and surgical patients. We focus on delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing major surgical procedures, managing multi-trauma cases, treating traumatic brain injuries, strokes, seizures, sepsis, and more. Our nurses play a critical role in comprehensive physical assessments, monitoring vital signs, managing ventilators, and conducting hemodynamic evaluations. The ideal candidate will possess and be proficient in: ICP monitoring via EVD or bolt Spinal drains/catheters Brain oxygen monitoring Artic Sun therapy Continuous EEG Intra-arterial catheter management Non-invasive cardiac output monitoring Mechanical ventilation techniques Continuous renal replacement therapy Reconstructive flap monitoring Massive blood transfusion protocols Nurses will be responsible for: Implementing physician orders and administering medications. Starting IVs and performing specialized procedures as needed. Ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions. Applying sound nursing judgment for patient care management. Providing emergency care for various injuries and illnesses. Collaborating with the nursing team to develop individualized Plans of Care. Leading and supervising ancillary personnel while upholding nursing standards. Requirements include: A diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in nursing. A current NYS Registered Nurse license. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
