Under the general direction from the manager, the incumbent prepares, sets up and operates the CT scanners following specific physician orders and protocols. Produces detailed computer-generated scans of patient's head/body for diagnostic and interventional information. Performs a variety of patient care tasks; assists patients on and off the scanner, verifies identification prior to scan, enters patient information into system from requisitions and ensures files are archived onto local media and networked to RELAY/PACS and completed properly in RIS. Maintains facilities in proper order. Must keep abreast of all outpatient procedures/policies within the CT Dept. Engages in additional duties as assigned while maintaining flexibility and adaptability to departmental needs. Qualifications

MA License required (R, N or T) ARRT (R) (N) or (T), or NMTCB Registry Advanced CT registration required within 1 year of hire CPR certification required within 90 days Completion of a medical imaging certificate/Diploma required, Associate's preferred Must effectively use interpersonal skills to communicate with patients and fellow employees who may be under physical and/or emotional stress. Maintains composure at all times Excellent attention to detail, written, and communication skills; must be able to read and write in English Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, principles of radiation physics, ALARA, radiographic equipment and positioning Must be physically capable of lifting minimum of 40 lbs (i.e. linen, supplies, patients) Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and infection control situations Displays a positive attitude and professional appearance; exemplifies flexibility and willingness to adapt to the operational needs of the department.
