Senior Java/Kotlin Engineer – San Francisco or Seattle, WA
Hybrid | Long-Term Contract: $100-120 per hour Our client is in search of a Senior Java/Kotlin Engineer – you'll work with stakeholders to implement functionality, architect our systems, squash bugs, and continually grow as an engineer. The ideal candidate is forward-thinking and hands-on, has a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery, and is a good mentor and co-worker. What you'll do
Lead the development and testing of our systems and services Participate in shaping the technical architecture of the product Help translate product requirements into user stories and technical solutions Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies Communicate with project leads, product managers and other software developers What you’ll need
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field 4+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack Core stack: Java, Kotlin, Spring, PostgreSQL, React; experience with Kubernetes in a service-oriented architecture with 100+ services in production 2+ years Java, Kotlin or Scala programming experience Proven understanding of relational databases and ORMs Experience working on a SOA or microservice-based application Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others, and get things done Strong sense of responsibility; able to drive a project from inception to completion Affinity for solving problems and shipping impactful features Experience working in a collaborative coding environment, refining designs, and managing pull requests Nice to have
Interest in personal finance Experience managing your own investments or taking out loans Experience scaling highly available, mission-critical systems Full-stack experience toward systems (Kafka, Docker, POSIX), databases (PostgreSQL), or front-end (JavaScript/TypeScript, React) About ConsultNet and our client
