About the Job

Manage an independent workload of grant activity, including proposal and progress report submissions, compliance monitoring, data and file management, and other administrative tasks. Work closely with faculty, Principal Investigators (PIs), research personnel, department accounting staff, central Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) staff, and other partners to facilitate proposal and grant activities. Provide expert guidance to PIs and staff on the preparation, submission, and non-financial post-award management of external and internal funding. Work Arrangement: Mostly remote with occasional in-person meetings as needed. Responsibilities

Grant proposal preparation, submission, and initiation (80%) Manage proposal processes from development through award for investigators including faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and others. Manage proposals, develop submission plans, review sponsor requests, prepare timelines, and liaise with administration and SPA. Serve as an expert on sponsor and University requirements, communicating restrictions and requirements to stakeholders. Manage application forms and oversee non-financial award setup and management. Compliance and Administration (20%)

Monitor compliance issues such as FCOI, RCR, public access policies, and use of human or animal subjects. Advise PIs on compliance issues, assist with account management, and ensure adherence to research policies. Maintain electronic files on proposal and award activities. Qualifications

Required:

BA/BS plus 4 years' experience or equivalent; excellent communication skills; proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred:

Experience in higher education, sponsored projects work, electronic proposal systems such as NIH ASSIST, grants.gov, ProposalCentral, and UMN MN-GEMS. About the Department

The MNPI Administrative Center supports departments within the University's Medical School, including Microbiology & Immunology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, and Integrative Biology & Physiology. Pay and Benefits
