Overview

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. The Tactical Recon and Strike (TRS) team develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all equipment to test, deploy and operate. The Software System Engineer will define systems engineering strategies in the Tactical Recon & Strike Division to drive requirements and verification for core Anduril Products Altius, Anvil, Bolt, and Ghost. Responsibilities

Responsibilities include working directly with Business Lines to understand product requirements, collaborating with Software Engineering on requirements decomposition, defining testing strategies, executing on broad and ambiguous requirements, coordinating test events, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NATO UAV and MIL-STD-882E, managing cross-team projects, and supporting staffing plans. The role requires understanding technical implementation at the architectural level and proposing alternatives when necessary. Qualifications

5+ years experience with programming languages like Python, C++, or Rust Degree in Engineering or related fields Experience in safety-critical software development standards Proficiency in engineering standards application Experience with systems/software engineering tools (JAMA, Cameo, Matlab, Simulink, AFSIM) Software design assessment Familiarity with modern software development practices Skills in Statistics and AI/ML Excellent communication skills Willingness to travel up to 25% Eligibility for U.S. security clearance Preferred Qualifications

Experience building software programs from the ground up Ability to work with minimal structure Experience with organizational process changes Communication planning skills Active clearance status Location
