Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr Overview

Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens is a not-for-profit organization serving the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. Its mission is to assist critical programs, institutions and ministries that further the Churchs mission in Brooklyn and Queens through financial support and counsel while developing and administering Foundation resources prudently and consistent with Catholic teachings. Futures in Education, also run by the Catholic Foundation, is to ensure that the gift of an excellent Catholic education continues to be a viable option for current and future generations of deserving students in Brooklyn and Queens by providing tuition assistance and program support to the neediest of students and academies. Role summary

The Advancement Officer will primarily be responsible for creating marketing and communications materials, including social media, letters, brochures, website updates and other collateral to promote the work of both organizations. The position also entails promoting and actively working with donors to various monthly giving programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Mission Advancement and her team. Principal responsibilities

Assist with initiatives that drive brand awareness to current and potential donors through annual campaigns and events. Coordinate public relations and outreach initiatives. Expand organizations web presence through social media, email, website and other online sources. Manage and grow a portfolio of small to mid-sized donors focused on monthly giving. Create collateral materials that tell the story and impact of the various programs within the two organizations. The pieces will also describe giving vehicles utilized for fundraising. Write and revise newsletter articles that focus on program impact. Design reporting materials for board members and donors. Aid in the planning of special events. Performs all other tasks as assigned by the Director of Mission Advancement. Requirements

Experience working with donors and/or prospective donors. Proven ability to close gifts or to assist with closing gifts. Strategic thinker who sees the big picture but is also sufficiently detail-minded to develop the necessary building blocks to reach the desired goal. Strong personal work ethic and commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and fundraising best practices. Business writing skills. Knowledge and previous use of Raisers Edge or similar donor management systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams. Reflect optimistic and positive attitude, convey sensitivity to needs of the donors, and maintain donor confidentiality. Excellent communication (speaking, writing, presentation, and listening) skills. Strong organizational skills. Basic knowledge of the Roman Catholic Church, its tenets, structure, beliefs and attitudes. Work occasional nights and weekends when needed for events. Seniority level
