Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for monitoring inventory levels and assisting in the management of government property disposal material. May maintain centralized document control center for all accountable transactions and total visibility of assets. Participates in maintaining inputs to inventory systems. Reviews and complies with government property disposal requirements. Participates in transfer of stock, tracks shortages, and expedites as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews material and assesses demilitarization codes to remain in compliance with DCMA disposal guidelines. Assists in establishing ABC codes and order policies of parts. Monitors purchased parts and bulk items utilizing shortage reports, sales orders, purchase requests and work orders. Sets up min/max/reorder quantities for applicable parts. May analyze and replenish inventory utilizing Min-Max reports. Coordinates with vendors as well as internal and external customers regarding disposition of disposal material. May coordinate with contracts on project transfers and approvals, with engineering on obsolescence and Bill of Materials (BOM) changes, and with manufacturing on status of out-of-stock situations. Reviews cycle count results, and may assist in resolving inventory discrepancies. Compiles various routine inventory reports using appropriate computer system(s) or hard copy documents. Maintains MRP system through planning data input, and maintains databases as required. Assists in identifying future Hi-Time material requirements. Assists in the analysis and resolution of obsolete and excess inventory. Recommends solutions to ensure requirements are met. Reviews unplanned issues from inventory. May assist in determining stock level replenishment requirements for Kanban locations on the production floor or stockroom. Assists with investigations and analysis of inventory activities. Input and maintain data within the assigned Government Property database Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required. Job Qualifications

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of related experience in inventory planning and control. Additional education may be substituted in lieu of experience. Must have a general understanding of inventory planning and control concepts and principles and a working knowledge of computer-based manufacturing systems and MRP. Must be customer focused and possess:

the ability to identify and analyze issues and interpret data good organization skills to maintain flow of work within the unit strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interface with all levels of internal employees and to accurately document and report basic knowledge of computer operations, applications, word processing, and spreadsheets the ability to obtain forklift license, to include narrow aisle reach and standup forklifts must be able to work in a warehouse environment and stand for long periods of time

The ability to work both independently and in a team, environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
