About this Position
Job Title:
Business Intelligence Developer Responsibilities Work with data architects, business analysts, ETL developers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver high standard Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. This can include, but is not limited to, enterprise analytical reports, dashboards, data warehouse, data lake, data marts, and ETL processes. Integrate Generative AI capabilities with BI and data warehousing platform to automatically generate business insights and recommendations, reducing the need for manual data analysis and interpretation, leading to faster decision-making. Leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence to provide predictive business insights to anticipate future trends and opportunities. Understand user expectations and create functional design documents and solutions based on the business requirements. Drive requirements through cross functional collaborations and connect dots from different requirements sources. Analyze product performance, identify key metrics, and build analytical reports and dashboards to meet business needs, implement the high priority initiatives, and instill discipline and accountability into the product development process. Lead and conduct functional testing of the BI solutions, thereby responsible for certification of product release before user acceptance. Encourage best practices and apply them in the team - responsible for functional product quality. Build queries and large datasets using SQL, and leverage reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create effective dashboards. Execute deep dives into available data sets to provide insight on product quality performance and ensure a good user experience in support reports and dashboards. Perform ongoing monitoring and optimization of reports and analytical solutions. Review and provide revisions to deliverables and documents to include conceptual/logical/physical data models, data dictionaries, and data ETL plans. Review and recommend revisions to data-related processes including data integration, data conversion, data replication, and data migration. Communicate timely to resolve technical issues and risks. Develop user documentation and create visual representations of data analysis, ensuring consistency and accuracy of data and analyses provided. Provide written weekly and/or monthly reports detailing technical findings that may impact schedules, resources, and activities.
Minimum Technical Qualifications
At least 1 year of hands-on experience in using Generative AI to deliver data analytics solutions. At least 5 years of hands-on experience designing and developing data analytics and BI dashboards with Microsoft Power BI. At least 5 years of experience creating SQL queries, optimizing SQL performance, and modifying SQL elements such as procedures, functions, and views, with a solid understanding of database principles. At least 3 years of experience developing data solutions with Snowflake or AWS Redshift data warehouses.
Desirable Technical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least five years of experience with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle. At least five years of experience with MS Power BI DAX to create queries, measures, and data models. At least 3 years of experience in State agencies or Financials or Investment portfolios or other regulated industries is highly preferred. Ability to use business knowledge and expertise to build analytical data models and reports that serve business users.
