Overview
CAM Programmer II (Manufacturing Engineering)
– Plans numerical control program to control CNC turret press by performing the following duties. Responsibilities
Analyzes CAD model, drawings, sketches, and design data of part, to determine production requirements. Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii, and outline of sequence of operations, required to develop flat dimension requirements. Simulate and verify tool sequencing and or cut paths to ensure quality and collision-free operations. Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g. Solidworks, AP100US). Generate shop drawings and process set-up sheets, to guide setup and operation of machine. Maintain organized documentation for programs, setup sheets, and tool lists. Collaborate with machinists and production personnel to improve processes. Supports troubleshooting and problem-solving during setup and production runs. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in cycle time reduction and process reliability. Revises program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions. Orders tooling for CNC turret press. Maintains master log for all soft tool punches. Education and Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be familiar with Solidworks, Turret and Laser cutting systems and CNC programming platforms. AP100US, a plus. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift materials up to 35 lbs., stand and/or sit for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks on a computer. Working Conditions
This role involves working in a production environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, toe and hearing protection is required. Seniority level
