$170.00/yr - $180.00/yr Role: Architect Data Engineering and BI This job will be instrumental in designing composable, scalable, and cloud-native data solutions across a multi-ERP enterprise. The role blends architecture, hands-on design, and delivery oversight across Snowflake, Power BI, Azure, and modern ELT frameworks such as Matillion and dbt. Exposure to AI/ML use cases is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience in distribution, B2B, wholesale, or logistics industries. Exposure to data science workflows and collaboration with ML/AI teams. Familiarity with data governance, MDM, and cataloging tools (e.g., Purview, Alation). Understanding of DevOps practices for data (CI/CD, Terraform, GitOps). Prior experience supporting M&A integration efforts from a data/BI perspective.

Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Engineering Leadership Design an Azure-based Snowflake data platform architecture that supports both current and future data needs, including those arising from mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Design and oversee scalable, enterprise-grade data platforms leveraging Snowflake and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, translating complex business requirements into robust, extensible technical architectures. Build and implement high-performance data pipelines to support large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across data lakes, data warehouses, real-time streaming, and event-driven architectures. Develop reusable patterns for data ingestion, modeling, and delivery leveraging Snowflake, Azure Cloud Environment, dbt, and Matillion. Align data architecture with master data strategy, enterprise business objects, and real-time integration initiatives.

Business Intelligence & Analytics Enablement

Architect Power BI enterprise reporting models with semantic layers and governed datasets. Define and enforce BI best practices including version control, workspace management, row-level security, and usage optimization. Support Fabric and Power BI Service evolution toward real-time analytics and cross-ERP insights.

Integration Strategy & M&A Support

Drive integration architecture across multiple ERP systems, aligning to an enterprise object model. Lead technical assessment, mapping, and onboarding of newly acquired companies from a data and BI integration perspective. Evaluate the current data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL pipelines to identify redundancies and opportunities for consolidation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or masters in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline. 12+ years of experience in data architecture, including 5+ years designing and delivering Azure cloud-based data solutions. 5+ years of experience architecting solutions in Snowflake, Azure (ADF, Event Hub, Functions), and Power BI at enterprise scale. Must be an active SQL developer with deep expertise in complex query development, optimization, and data modeling (star/snowflake schema, normalized/denormalized structures). Strong hands-on experience with ELT tools such as Matillion, dbt. Demonstrated ability to align technical solutions with strategic business outcomes. Familiarity with event-driven architecture, real-time pipelines, and composable enterprise design patterns. Experience working with multiple ERP/CRM systems. Excellent communication skills and ability to work across business, IT, and product teams.
