Reporting to the Warehouse/Logistics Supervisor, the Receiving Clerk is responsible for the receipt and inspection of all incoming materials and products. This includes conducting CTPAT-compliant inspections, verifying documentation, processing receipts in SAP, and placing items into stock using location scanning. The Receiving Clerk also supports warehouse optimization and may assist with shipping processes during downtime.Essential Functions and DutiesReceiving / Warehouse
Perform 17-point trailer inspections per CTPAT requirements for all incoming shipments, especially overseas containers.
Receive all incoming freight, verifying quantities against accompanying packing slips.
Using forklift or other material handling equipment, unpack and place incoming materials in designated storage locations per system-directed put away or layout standards.
Process receipts in SAP and ensure accurate inventory transactions.
Scan and place stock into correct warehouse locations.
Support shipping processes as needed, including material staging and documentation.
Consolidate rack and bin locations during downtime to optimize warehouse space.
Quality
Work with purchasing and accounting personnel to ensure all shipments are received and properly accounted for. Maintain a safe, clean work environment (5S) by keeping all required tools in working condition and in their correct location while also keeping aisles and walkways clear. Perform cycle counts on inventory as directed. Administrative
Provide accurate computer input of all data pertinent to receiving inventory. Correctly route and document all receiving paperwork. Receive and log UPS and FedEx shipments and deliver to appropriate departments. Perform other assignments and responsibilities as directed by management. Education & Required Experience
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 1 year receiving experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment. Valid driver's license with no major traffic violations. Skills
Ability to safely operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts. Basic command of the English language. Forklift certification preferred. Basic math skills. Familiarity with FIFO process. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel). Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Ability to lift overhead up to 25 lbs. Ability to push or pull up to 50 lbs using carts or other equipment. Ability to stand, bend, reach, and stoop as needed. Ability to read and understand written work instructions and processes. Safety
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Report unsafe conditions or safety issues immediately. Use required PPE as directed. Follow ISO-14001 procedures related to environmental impacts and aspects.
