Senior Research Scientist - Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine
Overview
The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University invites applications for a PhD level Senior Research Scientist (non-tenure track faculty) position. The position may cover any area in cellular or systems neuroscience. Applicants with expertise in biochemistry, cellular biology, and brain circuit studies are particularly encouraged to apply. Additional areas of interest include receptor biology and human iPSC-based neurological disease models. Department faculty have access to excellent core facilities for multiphoton/confocal and electron microscopy, small animal behavior and super-resolution imaging, genomics and proteomics, flow cytometry and bioinformatics. Responsibilities The Senior Research Scientist will work independently under the direction of Dr. Qin Wang and will be expected to conduct cutting-edge research in the fields of brain aging, complex behavior and cognition, and neuroinflammation, including engaging in collaborative projects. Will train and provide supervision to the postdocs, students and technical staff and will carry out research projects independently; design and execute research experiments, perform data analysis, write manuscripts and publish results. The Senior Scientist also has opportunity to apply for intramural and extramural grants and proper support is provided. Other duties as assigned.
