Overview
The Data/Information Architect will manage Oracle and MS SQL databases, focusing on data modeling with ERwin. Responsibilities include assessing current models, creating or updating logical/physical models, maintaining documentation, ensuring data integrity, resolving duplicates, and providing progress/final reports. The role also supports production tasks (tickets, updates, security, etc.), sometimes outside normal hours. The candidate will collaborate with a team of 6 DB engineers/administrators, plus architects, developers, analysts, and server support staff. Responsibilities
Create and update data models and documentation using ERWIN Performing reverse and forward engineering of database structures. Providing best practices for data modeling, metadata management, and documentation. Designing, developing, and maintaining logical and physical data models using ERwin Data Modeler. Ensuring database designs support scalability, integrity, and performance requirements. Identify data integrity and consistency issues. Provide reporting and recommendations to address the issues. Identify and aid with duplicate data resolution. Collaborating with data architects, DBAs, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into data models. Managing version control of data models and maintaining model repositories. Supporting data governance and compliance initiatives through effective data modeling strategies. Same modeling activities may be required for MS SQL databases. ORACLE and MS SQL production support activities as needed and directed by the DBA manager. Qualifications
