We are seeking an experienced and technically sharp Software Engineer to support and advise a DoD customer developing an Advanced Air Defense system.
Position Overview
As a Software Engineer, you will advise and assist the US Government in the development of a next generation launcher, integration of an existing missile system onto the launcher platform, and development of a next generation interceptor, and its integration onto the launcher platform. All these elements are then to be integrated into the Army Air and Missile defense portfolio, integrating directly with the Army Integrated Battle Command System. You'll be part of a team focused on the development and integration of these elements.
This role requires software development integration experience. You'll coordinate with government Task Managers and SMEs to guide analytic, design, and development efforts, ensuring all deliverables meet mission-critical standards in performance and quality.
Key Responsibilities •Working understanding of Agile software development processes. •Weapon systems engineering processes and Army weapon system development standards •Software requirements development, analysis, and compliance verification processes •Model Based Systems engineering (MBSE) and tools •Software testing, procedure evaluation and results analysis •Serve as the primary technical interface with government customers to define scope, validate analysis, and coordinate tasking. •Produce and review technical reports, presentations, and briefings for internal and external audiences.
Minimum Qualifications •U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance. •Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field. •6+ years of experience in systems software engineering •Proficient in software development and testing
Preferred Qualifications •Experience in C++ software development •MBSE experience using CAMEO •Experience in programming of Field Programmable Gate Arrays using Firmware •Knowledge of classified reporting environments and DoD technical reporting requirements.
Work Location & Travel •Huntsville, Alabama - primarily at a US Government office on Redstone Arsenal, AL •Minimal travel (~10%) may be required for technical reviews, briefings, flight tests or collaboration with government partners.
