The Sports Information And Events Assistant will provide direct support to our lead Sports Information Director and Director of Operations & Event Management. This will include providing game day statistical, technology, and staffing support. In addition, this position will be an integral member of the daily operations of the athletic department. We are looking for candidates who have: Minimum of one year of experience in intercollegiate athletics or in the development of communications for athletics. Ability to meet the demands of working weekends, nights, and regional/national travel demands. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Self-starting capabilities with the ability to take initiative and is able to build positive relationships while meeting multiple demands. Aptitude for running the Statcrew program preferred; must understand athletic statistics for basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, soccer, track, cross country, and golf. Experience with Sidearm or similar Content Management System preferred. Experience with Adobe CS and Photoshop. Assist in the creation and publication of online content through . Responsible for weekly communication with game day staff that details game day information and responsibilities. Functions as one of our lead technical experts as it relates to game day stats and statistical reporting. Assist with game day broadcasts as a production manager, commentator, or both. Responsible for keeping the CCU Athletics record books up to date and posted at . Monitor all CCU team and department social media outlets to ensure quality and on-brand messaging. Assist operations staff with game day preparations and logistics. Provide day-of management and support for all home athletics contests, which may involve site setup & tear down, student worker supervision, and hospitality. Assist with the execution, planning and production of Athletic Department functions, including Hall of Fame Banquet, Homecoming and Alumni events, and Athletic Banquet. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, including RMAC, University committee assignments. While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. You will be required to work irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.
