Position Overview We are seeking an Epic Revenue Cycle Analyst - HIM to support and optimize Epics Health Information Management (HIM) modules. This role focuses on ensuring clinical documentation integrity, coding accuracy, compliance, and seamless medical records workflows that support downstream billing and reimbursement. The ideal candidate will be Epic-certified in HIM (or related revenue cycle applications), have a background in HIM/coding or compliance, and thrive at the intersection of clinical documentation, regulatory standards, and IT systems support. Key Responsibilities System Build & Configuration Configure and maintain Epic HIM applications (Deficiency Tracking, Coding & Abstracting, Chart Correction, Release of Information, Identity management). Build and support workflows for physician record completion, coding queues, and medical record corrections. Integrate HIM modules with coding, billing, and downstream revenue cycle processes. Compliance & Documentation Support Ensure Epic workflows meet compliance requirements (HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS). Support clinical documentation improvement (CDI) workflows and deficiency management. Partner with compliance and HIM leadership to implement regulatory changes. Operations & Optimization Partner with coders, CDI staff, and HIM teams to identify workflow gaps and system improvements. Optimize Epic HIM modules to improve productivity, accuracy, and turnaround times for coding and record completion. Collaborate with revenue cycle analysts to ensure accurate documentation flows into billing. Testing, Upgrades, & Support Develop and execute test scripts for upgrades, patches, and new Epic releases. Troubleshoot issues, provide Tier 2/3 support, and coordinate with Epic TS when needed. Document build, configuration, and support procedures. Training & End-User Support Provide training and guidance to HIM staff, coders, CDI specialists, and physicians on Epic HIM workflows. Develop tip sheets, reference guides, and training materials to support adoption. Qualifications Education/Certification: Bachelors degree in Health Information Management, Informatics, or related field preferred. Epic HIM certification required RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or other AHIMA/AAPC coding credentials strongly preferred. Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of HIM, coding, or revenue cycle experience in a healthcare environment. Prior experience supporting Epic HIM modules strongly preferred. Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, DRG coding workflows, and documentation compliance standards. Skills: Strong understanding of HIM operations, coding, and regulatory compliance. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and workflow design skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with HIM, coding, CDI, compliance, and IT teams. Strong communication and training skills for working with both clinical and technical staff. Preferred Qualifications Experience with integration of HIM with Resolute Billing (PB/HB). Familiarity with clinical documentation improvement (CDI) systems and physician query workflows. Experience with identity management/duplicate record resolution. Prior involvement in Epic implementation, upgrade, or optimization projects.
