Sr. System Administrator is an essential IT professional who is responsible for providing a reliable work environment for the organization. Scope of responsibility includes server and network performance, security, and all other areas that keep the organizations IT systems running smoothly. Provides coverage to Network Administrator, acting as their backup. System administrators must have an in-depth understanding of computer software, hardware, and networks and are highly skilled, valuable members of the organization. At a high level, system administrators are responsible for system performance, design, reliability, and the security and optimization of computer systems. Duties
Maintain Microsoft Intune implementation for standard Package and maintain third party applications to be deployed Sugest, identify, develop, and implement infrastructure improvement projects. Troubleshoot to maintain network and infrastructure reliability Support and oversee systems including Active Directory / Azure Active Directory, M365, Veeam, print server, group policy, and network security Deploy and maintain virtual machines in a VMWare / ProxMox environment Manage data center hosts and storage Maintain server operating systems and software Manage and monitor backups and recovery, offsite archival, and disaster recovery Engage and oversee the monitoring, analysis and management of server and workstation health, including review of system logs, disk space utilization, processor and memory utilization as well as patch, backup, and threat and vulnerability defense Engage in setup, analysis, and troubleshooting tasks related to basic and intermediate information of technology hardware and software, including installation or replacement of hardware components, cabling, peripherals, drivers, software, customization of system settings, and resolution of end user issues Work with vendors to trouble shoot network infrastructure, hardware VOIP, and software, and other issues as appropriate Daily Monitoring using SEIM Perform system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, firmware updates on networking and related equipment Monitor Service Request tickets and/or Help desk tickets for assignment; resolve, update and close as appropriate. Responds to L2 IT help desk requests and provides remote or desktop assistance with user requests Maintain up-to-date documentation on all server, network, hardware, VOIP, software, equipment, and configurations Create and update knowledge base articles to provide procedures and guidance to IT staff and users, as appropriate Offers technical support and training for staff. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field OR equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience Proven abilities in Windows-centric desktop and server environment Mastery of basic TCP/IP Skills Foundational understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, split-zone DNS, routing, firewalls and wireless technologies, messaging systems, virtual technologies, and remote access technologies Proven technical, analytical, data collection and problem-solving skills Experience using powershell in a Windows server environment, as well as Azure and M365 Certifications
Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer (MCSE) Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) CompTIA Server+ Preferred and required conditions
Full-time, in-office in West Bend, WI, but possible two-days per week Work From Home for the right candidate. Monday Friday with occasional night and weekend work Weekly on-call support rotation Must have a valid drivers license Candidates must have existing eligibility to work in the United States Seniority level
